Derrell Hendrix
Derrell, CEO of RFPS, has developed a unique profile in the complex financial risk financing market, working with major insurance and reinsurance companies, corporations and regulators. Prior to RFPS, Derrell was Manager of The RISConsulting Group LLC (since 1996), as well as the CEO of Karson Management (Bermuda) Limited, which he founded in 2007. Through his work at Karson and at RISConsulting (which was co-founded with Hannover Re and Rabobank), Derrell has fostered the development of a number of important market innovations and participated in approaching $20 billion in cash and risk financing transactions. Prior to RISConsulting, Derrell spent 18 years with Citicorp/Citibank in Canada, Hong Kong and London, where he held senior positions in relationship management, fixed income trading and sales, equity derivatives and new business/new product development (e.g., European equity and FX warrants, European equity derivatives, and aircraft and insurance derivatives, where he concluded the first ever catastrophe bond transaction for Hannover Re in 1994). Prior to founding RISConsulting, Derrell spent one year at BankBoston as Head of Derivatives Trading and Sales. Derrell served as a member of the Board of Directors of Converium AG from its launch in 2001 until its acquisition by SCOR in 2007. Among Derrell’s notable achievements were the establishment of RISConsulting as the market leader in structuring and arranging aircraft contingent liability portfolio risk insurance transactions and helping Karson achieve a leadership position as an independent provider of excess reserve and capital financing for US life companies (e.g., Reg.
